The best onsen in the area are accessible from Central Happo: Kurashita-no-yu is well worth the 17 minute walk over the Hakubao bridge, Mimizuku no yu is 20 mins walk toward Hakuba Town or Obinata no yu is available for private hire with a pick up / drop off service.
Within Central Happo, there are two public onsen – Happo no yu & Sato no yu – both are popular and convenient options open to all.
In the Mizuho neighbourhood, Goryukan and Rosenheim Hotels offer great onsen with indoor & outdoor baths and sauna.
Kurashita no yu

A beautifully constructed large wooden bathhouse, well worth the effort to visit, with magnificent forest and mountain views from the outside baths.
Given its out of town location, Kurashita no yu is usually quieter than the onsen found in central Happo One village.
