Hakuba is located 45km due West of Nagano, the gateway city for the ski resorts known as the 'Japan Alps'. The Nagano region is located 280km North West of Tokyo on Honshu, Japan's largest island.
Hakuba is comprised of 11 ski resorts and 8 villages in a valley that runs North-South, collectively known as the Hakuba Valley or simply as Hakuba.
Happo One, located in the middle of the Hakuba Valley, is the largest ski resort and village and serves as the transport hub.
The town of Hakuba, located close to Happo One Village, is defined as the area around Hakuba Train Station, which combined with the Happo One Bus Terminal is the primary gateway in and out of the area.

Narita Airport to Hakuba
Tokyo Narita Airport is one of two international airports serving the Greater Tokyo Area, the other one being Haneda Airport, which together forms the main gateway in and out of Japan.
Narita is a larger airport than Haneda and is located further away from the center of the city but is well connected to the city via rapid train services.
