Akakura Kanko Resort Hotel Onsen
The onsens are separated into men’s and women’s baths, but the private onsens can be used by couples or families provided you have a prior reservation.
Not only are the onsens naturally heated and mineralized, but the open-air onsens are also arguably some of the most incredible in the area, if not Japan, and are privy to the incredible views across the landscape that are characteristic of Akakura Kogen.
Many of the indoor onsens do also, looking out through stunning large picture windows.
Each onsen is also fitted with a dressing room that doubles as a lounge area. Extreme care has been put into these spaces, each one fitted with private booths with gorgeous European décor and design. Most of the onsens are open from early morning through to late evening, making them the ideal spot to both start off a relaxing day or unwind after a day on the slopes.

Oyado Furuya Onsen
Oyado Furuya has its own indoor onsens for public use, both of which are incredibly large and luxurious.
One onsen is situated in a stone-floored room lined by large windows and the other is a rare tatami-buro, a natural onsen surrounded by tatami flooring.
While one is open for women, the other is open for men, meaning everyone gets to experience the beauty of both.
Both onsens are naturally heated and mineralized, and the heated water also heats the floors throughout the room, providing an incredibly relaxing and tranquil space for guests to take advantage of.

Kogakuro Onsen
If you’re the kind of person who likes their onsens tranquil, hot and surrounded by beauty, this hotel has just the spot for you.
Kogakuro features indoor and outdoor onsens for men and for women, but it’s hard to argue that the outdoor onsens, surrounded by stones and beautiful greenery, aren’t by all means the better option.
However, both of the onsens are naturally heated and mineralized and all are free for guests to use, so you are free to make your own decision when you see for yourself.

The outdoor onsen is a traditional rotenburo and sits amongst lovely greenery during the summer months and beautiful snow in the winter, while the indoor onsen overlooks large windows with stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
The hotel also features a sauna in the communal area that guests are free to use throughout the day, making relaxation at Taizan a very easy task.
