Overview
Located at the base of the Chisenupuri ski area, across the road from the Yuki Chichibu onsen, Akahane is a charming Ryokan.
The wonderfully traditional indoor bathhouse is constructed almost entirely of wood and feels like stepping back in time. Although, the floor can be a little slippery, so please take care!
The outdoor bath has a wooden canopy sheltering the pool and is set amongst stones with little touches reminiscent of a zen garden.
Akahane is a Japanese mud bath onsen with water naturally sourced from the Oyuma sulfuric water source that is beneficial for the skin as well as soothing tired legs!
Like Yuki chichibu, Akahane is reachable by car or taxi but is not on any shuttle bus routes. Akahane is perfect for a secluded onsen experience.
