Start / Finish Policy
- Bookings start and finish at the exact pre-arranged times-confirmed on your Samurai Snow Booking Confirmation and Voucher
- Lessons and guiding finish at the same starting location, except with prior arrangement.
- Bookings will not be extended due to customers running late. If Niseko Black cannot find the guest at the meeting location after 30 minutes or contact them via the provided contact details, booking is considered cancelled, and is non-refundable.
Transfers
- Complimentary pickup and drop-off service is provided immediately before and directly after lessons / guiding.
- All other transfers require alternate plans - except for Niseko Black Full Concierge where a vehicle and driver are provided throughout the booking. Transfers for bookings made with less than 24 hours notice cannot be guaranteed
- Customers receiving transfers are expected to depart within 5 minutes of scheduled pickuptime, and to already be dressed in ski gear with ski boots on, with lift passes arranged.
- If customers are running late please call us immediately. Transfers are not guaranteed beyond allocated time - guests may need to book a taxi and be familiar with our start/finish policy.
- Transfers with greater than six passengers must be approved as an exception
- Penalties apply for deliberately damaging or smoking in Niseko Black vehicles and will be passed onto a customer’s invoice.
Requests
- Instructors and guides may be requested by name, subject to availability. We cannot guarantee a particular instructor’s availability - for operational reasons we reserve the right to substitute instructors where unavoidable.
Lift Closure / Extreme Avalanche Safety Risk – Rescheduling
- No compensation can be made for the weather or other operational conditions outside of the control of Niseko Black Snowsports.
- For Backcountry products, if all Niseko United Area backcountry gates are closed, we will reschedule the booking to a suitable date/time.
- For all other lesson products, in the event of full lift closure within Niseko United, we will reschedule bookings to a suitable date/time.
- Cancellations for all other reasons - our cancellation policy applies.
Risks Associated With Snowsports
- In booking lessons or guiding services with Niseko Black Snowsports, The Agent has confirmed the customer, parent or guardian understands that snowsports are inherently dangerous and can result in serious injury to themselves, persons in their care, property and other people.
- By proceeding with the booking, the customer accepts Niseko Black Snowsports, our agents, employees and other affiliated parties will not be held liable for any injuries or accidents occurring before, during or after services have been provided.
- Niseko Black Snowsports expects all guests to protect themselves against all risk of travel and to be covered by appropriate winter sports travel insurance for injury costs such as medical care, evacuation and cover for unused lift passes/rental gear/snowsports services as well as any last minute lesson cancellation. (NBSS will be able to provide a formal approval letter to your travel insurance companies if needed.)
Backcountry Guiding Products
- All customers desiring to go outside of a resort boundary (through the gates) as part of guiding product must have avalanche safety equipment (minimum includes shovel, probe and activated transceiver) and be familiar with its operation.
- If the customer does not have avalanche safety equipment, rental avalanche safety equipment must be pre-arranged and can be rented from Niseko Black Snowsports. Otherwise the guiding product will take place strictly on inbounds terrain.
- Guests accept that touring in the Niseko backcountry is a dangerous activity, and while our guides take utmost care, there is additional risk involved in touring the alpine backcountry areas. You accept that no liability will be held to Niseko Black or our employees in the event of accident, injury or death.
Children
- Parents/guardians must inform of any dietary or safety issues. Niseko Black Snowsports will not be liable for negligence on behalf of restaurants regarding food allergies. Children under 4 years old must have a responsible parent/guardian nearby during lessons for toiletry issues and a contact phone number must be provided.
- Following lessons, we reserve the right to arrange a childcare service if parents/guardians have arranged to collect children from us, but are not on time and are unreachable - full charges apply.
- Children must be at least 13 years old to take part in our Guide products that go out of the Niseko United Gates.
Cancellation policy
- 22 days or more before lesson/service – no charge
- 15-21 days before lesson/service – 50% of cost will be charged
- 0-14 days before lesson/service – 100% of cost will be charged
- If guests do not show up for their lesson/service – 100% of cost will be charged
We recommend you purchase your own trip cancellation insurance in case you need to cancel for injury or any other unforeseen circumstances.
