If you have already booked accommodation with Samurai Snow, you can book lessons through our booking portal.
Celebrating a century since opening the Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort, the Nozawa Snowsports School proudly continues to spread the joy of skiing and snowboarding to those new to the sport, as well as helping old hands develop their techniques.
Lessons for very first timers are run daily for infants, children and adults for both ski and snowboard.
Group Lessons for other ability levels may be available depending on instructor availability.
Location
Nozawa Snowsports School is located at the top of the moving walkway, at base of the Hikage Gondola and Pair lift.

Lesson Types
- 3yr olds can participate in private lessons
- Age groups may be mixed with smaller numbers of participants or with similar ability levels
2024 / 25 Prices
Available from Dec 22nd – March 24th (other times private lessons only)
- Full day lessons for kids and infants includes a meal and staff member looking after them for the lunch break.
- Minimum number for a group lesson to run is 2 people.
- Some lessons may combine age groups to make up minimum numbers.

- We recommend ALL lesson and tour participants have winter sports travel insurance coverage
Enrolments
The school is open for enrolments from 8:30 am until 5 pm daily.
We strongly advise booking in advance in peak seasons (Dec – Feb)
The desk can become very busy for morning sign ups, so we recommend coming in early.
Lesson Ability Levels
The following ability levels show what skills you will be working on at each level.
If you can already perform the skills at a level proficiently please proceed to the next level.
Note: Group lessons may be full, or may not be available depending on number of participants enrolled in a lesson (minimum of 2 needed) and instructor availability.
Payment
- Full payment required to book
Cancellation
- 75 days or more prior to the rental start date: 25% cancellation fee (75% of the value of the booking is refunded*)
- Within 30 days of the rental start date: 100% cancellation fee
- "Cancellation" includes changes that reduce the overall value of the booking.
* Refunds are made in Japanese Yen. The amount that you receive in your home currency may differ from the amount you paid in your home currency due to exchange rate fluctuations

We are only able to book for guests who have already booked accommodation with Samurai Snow.
Please enter your Samurai Snow Reservation Number provided to you when you booked your accommodation in the form below and we will email booking instructions to you.
If you submit a booking request and have not already booked accommodation with Samurai Snow, we will do our best to respond to your enquiry but this will not always be possible.
We are not able to book 7 days or fewer before the start date.
