Overview
One of the largest onsen in the Hakuba Valley and certainly one of our favourites. This onsen is located within a beautiful traditional Japanese Ryokan called Hakuba Ryujin Obuya.
The onsen is separated into male and female sides with the same facilities on each side.
When the snow is falling, you can enjoy a magical Yukimi (snowy scene) in the open air outdoor baths. A pretty stone courtyard house the outdoor baths with the main outdoor bath being a rock pool lined by boulders.
The indoor baths use beautifully designed Mt. Fuji volcanic bomb bathtubs and Towada stone bathtubs.
The onsen also features a wooden Scandinavian style dry sauna to raise the temperature and a cold bath, which is great for cooling off straight after.
Hakuba Ryujin Obuya is located 150 metres off route 148, the main route that runs the length of the Hakuba Valley. Goryu is closest village and the Goryu Bus Stop and Kamishiro Train Station are within easy walking distance.
