Overview
This modest ryokan offers all of the essentials to the budget traveller, featuring well-kept, clean and spacious rooms at an affordable price.
The ryokan offers both Japanese and western rooms, each fitted with televisions and ensuite bathrooms, and all beautifully decorated for an immersive experience of Japanese culture.
The ryokan itself does not feature an onsen, but large baths are available for guests to use and staff are happy to help organise trips to local public onsens, which are well worth a visit. There are also showers and baths included in each guest ensuite bathroom.
There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves breakfast and, if you make a reservation, dinner as well, offering a variety of great traditional Japanese cuisine.
Ski enthusiasts will be happy to hear that storage and drying facilities are free for guest use and anyone looking to an extended stay is welcome to use the laundry facilities provided by the ryokan.
The ryokan also offers a few Internet access points throughout the communal space, but no Wi-Fi is available in the guest rooms.
Arguably one of the best features, the ryokan features a large yet cosy lounge beside the lobby, providing an area for guests to get together with one another. This space offers a retreat for guests from the cold outside and allows you either mingle with other guests or relax with your fellow travellers.
