Taka no yu Onsen
Famed for its stunning appearance, beautiful tranquillity and calm atmosphere, the indoor and outdoor onsens at Ryokan Sakaya are arguably the highlight of many people’s stay.
They’re exclusive for hotel guests and they’re quite large with a few different options, meaning it’s never too crowded and you’ll always find a spot to relax in.
The water is naturally heated, unfiltered and unaltered, and contains the famed sulfur minerals of Japanese onsens, which have been said to help heal, soothe and calm.
For anyone looking for a lovely private or romantic experience, you can book an hour in the 4-person private onsen in advance. Just as stunning, this is definitely a must-visit if you like your peace and quiet.
Both indoor and outdoor onsens are situated in beautifully traditional landscapes and buildings, extending on the already immersive authentic Japanese cultural experience of the hotel. The indoor building is designed and constructed following the traditional Japanese carpentry technique of Miyadaiku, and relaxing amongst a building like this isn’t a chance you’ll get often.
They’re all available all day long, so you can take a dip any time you’d like, and split into women’s and men’s sections for privacy.
