Sapporo Chitose Airport (CTS) is Hokkaido’s largest airport and handles both regional international flights from China, Hong Kong, South Korea & Taiwan as well as domestic flights from airports across Japan.
The Hokkaido Resort Liner is a great value bus service offering both a Chitose Airport to Rusutsu bus for arrival and a Rusutsu to Chitose Airport bus for departure.
The service is convenient with meeting locations in the Domestic and International terminal buildings and buses picking up on site at Chitose Airport.
The Chitose Airport to Rusutsu bus is direct with no changes of vehicle required and a comfort break provided along the way.
The transfer time varies between 2 and 2.5 hours depending on road and weather conditions.
2024 / 25 Prices
- Adults are classed as 12 years and older.
- Child Prices are available for children aged 3 to 11 years.
- Infants aged 0-2 years are permitted free of charge if they do not require a seat.
- Please arrive at the meeting location 15 minutes prior to the departure time of your bus.

Chitose Airport to Rustusu Timetable
- For arrival transfers, domestic flights must be scheduled to arrive a minimum of 45 minutes prior to the bus departure time. International flights must be scheduled to arrive a minimum of 90 minutes prior to the bus departure time.
- Chitose Airport to Rusutsu service runs from 1st December 2024 to 30th March 2025
Rusutsu to Chitose Airport Timetable
- For departure transfers, bus transfers must be booked to arrive at the airport 60 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights and 120 minutes prior to departure for international flights.
- Rusutsu to Chitose Airport service runs from 1st December 2024 to 30th March 2025

Payment
- Full payment via the booking portal is required to complete the booking
Cancellation
- 8 or more days in advance of the transfer date: Full refund is provided*
- Within 7 days of the transfer date: 100% cancellation fee
- "Cancellation" includes changes that reduce the overall value of the booking
* Refunds are made in Japanese Yen. The amount that you receive in your home currency may differ from the amount you paid in your home currency due to exchange rate fluctuations.
Flight Delays / Cancellations
- When a flight schedule has been changed or delayed, the bus schedule also might be changed
- If you miss your bus due to the delay or cancellation of your flight, you will be checked in for the next available bus or other transport options will be offered
- Please note that Resort Liner are not responsible for securing other transport for passengers
Extreme Weather & Driving Conditions
- In the unlikely event that the weather & driving conditions are sufficiently bad that Resort Liner do not think they can arrive to the airport on time, they may drop passengers off at the nearest train station or introduce other transport options
- Additional costs, such as train fare are not borne by Resort Liner
